A torndado watch has expired for Champaign County according to the National Weather service.

A flood watch and high wind advisory remain in effect through the early evening. Winds are predicted to reach 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 45 mph.

The advisories come as part of a storm system reaching from Wisconsin to Alabama and out to the east coast. The storm has been responsible for eight reported deaths in Alabama.
