Unofficial spurs business boom on campus
March 2, 2007
Business has picked up for restaurants and cab companies, today as the University campus celebrates Unofficial St. Patrick’s Day.
Antonio’s, 619 E. Green St, manager Mohamed Dardir, said the business is experiencing its “busiest day of the year.”
Redith Ewing, owner of Yellow Checker Cab, 1204 Hagan St., said that today has been “kind of a nightmare.”
“Every phone is ringing, every cab is running, and we’ve called in the night shift at 2 p.m.,” Ewing said.
Ewing added that it seems as though Unofficial could surpass New Year’s Eve as the busiest day of the year for her company.
