Local business held up

Champaign police are looking for information regarding an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday, March 21, at approximately 9 p.m.

According to a press release from the city of Champaign, the suspect held up the clerk of a business on the 1800 block of Kirby Ave. at gunpoint last Wednesday. He ordered the clerk to put money from the cash register into a bag, took the money, and left the store.

The suspect is described as a 17 to 23 year-old black man, about 5’7″ and 130 lbs. He was wearing a ski mask, blue jeans and a black hoodie at the time of the robbery.
