Chancellor Richard Herman sent out a massmail today asking students to observe a moment of silence Friday, April 20 at 11 a.m.

The massmail came after the Governor’s Office issued a proclamation for a moment of silence across Illinois for those killed at the Virginia Tech massacre.

The Student Senate is also asking students and other community members to wear orange and maroon on Friday as part of a national movement to show support for university colleagues at Virginia Tech.
