Representatives for Barack Obama will be on campus for a training and information session tonight.

According to a press release, students and community members are invited to attend the meeting to learn more about how to help with the Senator’s 2008 presidential campaign.

“Illinois is next door to Iowa, home to the all important first caucus in the ’08 presidential election,” Anita Decker, Illinois downstate director for the campaign, said. “Sen. Obama and his supporters intend to use our geographic proximity to our full advantage . U of I students are essential to that effort.”

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in room 112 of Greg Hall.
