Sophomore basketball player Jamar Smith was in court today for a pretrial hearing. However, his attorney requested more time and the pretrial has been rescheduled to May 24 at 1:30 p.m. at the Champaign County Courthouse, 101 W. Main St., in Urbana.

Smith is currently facing charges of drunken driving and leaving the scene of an accident after an incident involving teammate Brian Carlwell on Feb. 12.

Smith has already pled not guilty to both charges.
