May 3, 2007
With the end of the year quickly approaching, the national spotlight has been cast once again on the University.
An episode of the “Daily Show” on Comedy Central Thursday featured a segment on Chief Illiniwek, the subject Daily Illini viewers have called the most important of the year in a current poll.
The feature brought show correspondant Aasif Mandvi to campus to speak with LeAnne Howe, an associate professor of American Indian studies, Jack McMillan, a former Daily Illini columnist, and JP Korlec, a Chief supporter.
