Move-in Day picnic

Every year, thousands of students and families converge on the Champaign-Urbana area in August for the University’s annual Move-in Day. Area restaurants are overwhelmed by the number of patrons, and that’s where the associations step in. For a minimal fee, you can enjoy a gourmet boxed lunch with your student under the shade of the Association’s tent, located just west of Memorial Stadium – away from the hub-bub that is move-in day.

This year’s picnic will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 18. Tickets are $9 per person and registration forms are available at the Parent Programs Web site. Tickets must be purchased before August 4.

Conference for Illini parents

This event is an opportunity for parents to come together and learn about the University and its services. Guest speakers address the issues and concerns today’s college students are experiencing.

Knowledgeable county representatives discuss projects and activities and share ideas with parents on developing plans to use in their home counties.

This year’s event will be held on Sept. 22.
