Police investigate hit and run

Champaign Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of Eureka and State streets at approximately 8 a.m. this morning to investigate a potential hit and run.
When they arrived, officers learned that the driver of a van allegedly hit the victim, a 76-year-old man, and fled the scene.
The suspect was reported driving a burgundy, full-sized van.
The victim, who is thought to be a pedestrian, was injured and transported to an area hospital.
