Champaign

  • A 19-year-old woman and 20-year-old woman were issued notices to appear at the 2000 block of Moreland Boulevard, Tuesday evening. for being minors in possession of alcohol.

    According to a police report, the offenders were in possession of alcohol.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 28-year-old woman reported identity theft at the 2400 block of Neil Street on Tuesday evening.

    According to a police report, the victim reported that an unknown offender had been using her Social Security number.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • St. John’s Catholic Church at the 1000 block of Sixth Street, reported criminal damage to its property on Sept. 6.

    According to a police report, an unknown offender climbed the fire escape of the building and spray-painted graffiti on the roof of the rectory and broke the lightning rod.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 18-year-old man reported burglary at his apartment at the 2000 block of Moreland Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the offender stole Xbox games and a controller. There were no signs of forced entry into the apartment.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 56-year-old man was arrested at the 800 block of Bradley Avenue early Tuesday morning.

    According to a police report, the offender was stopped for not having rear registration lights on his vehicle. Additionally, the offender had been operating an uninsured vehicle, driving on a revoked driver’s licence and was found to be in possession of cannabis.

    A notice to appear was issued in addition to the arrest.

  • A 32-year-old man had his car burglarized at Jupiter’s Pizza and Billiards, 39 E. Main St., Tuesday night.

    According to a police report, the victim parked his vehicle in the lot behind the business. While inside, the offender stole a CD sleeve and 30 CDs from the vehicle. The offender left the driver’s side window and the panelling around the stereo damaged.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 42-year-old woman reported theft from her residence at the 1100 block of Dorsey Drive, Monday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the victim had a GameCube and three video games taken from the premises. The victim found no traces of forced entry.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 21-year-old woman was arrested for burglary at Wal-Mart, 2610 N. Prospect Ave., Sunday morning.

    According to a police report, the offender took a pre-paid gift card without paying for it.

University

  • A 22-year-old man was arrested on drug charges Wednesday morning at the 800 block of South Locust Street.

    According to a police report, after a search warrant was executed, the offender was arrested for cannabis delivery and possession of drug equipment.

  • A 20-year-old woman was arrested for resisting or obstructing a police officer Monday evening at the 400 block of East Healey Street.

    According to a police report, a search warrant was executed in the offender’s building, across from her apartment. The offender disregarded police instructions to stop and ran into her apartment after officers saw her standing on the apartment balcony. The police found drug paraphernalia in the searched apartment and identified it as belonging to the offender.

Urbana

  • A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver at the intersection of Bradley and Lincoln avenues Sept. 5.

    According to a police report, an officer stopped the vehicle for an Illinois vehicle code violation and called for K-9 unit to respond. The K-9 was alerted by the odor of illegal drugs in the vehicle. An officer located suspected powder cocaine in the offender’s right sock. The offender was taken to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office and strip-searched where additional cocaine was located.

  • An unknown offender discharged a firearm at the 100 block of Smith Road on Sept. 5.

    According to a police report, the offender was in the area of a highly populated apartment complex at the time the weapon was discharged. It was also reported that several individuals were outside at the time.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report

  • A 24-year-old man was arrested for driving under the influence on Sept. 6 at the 3100 block of University Avenue.

    According to a police report, the offender’s vehicle became disabled after travelling through a cornfield. The offender admitted to having consumed drugs and alcohol and according to a sobriety test, showed signs of impairment.
