Last Saturday, Daily Illini reporter Dan Howell was placed in a snug bullet-proof vest, briefed on that night’s activities, and then sent into a U of I squad car for a true perspective on what it means to be a University police officer. Sergeant Matt Myrick and Officer Michelle Ortiz graciously invited him for a small taste of their view of campustown, and their jobs as police officers on a weekend evening. This is their story.
