National Alliance on Mental Illness to host awareness walk
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) will be hosting a walk to raise awareness about mental illness. The walk will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13 at West Side Park.

Sorority to host 19th annual ‘All Walks of Life, Walk for AIDS’

To benefit the Greater Community AIDS Project, Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority will be hosting its 19th annual “All Walks of Life, Walk for AIDS.”
The walk will take place on Oct. 7 at Illini Grove. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the walk will begin at noon. Free food will be provided.

Virginia Theatre to feature first full-length film from community
On Oct. 3, the Virginia Theatre, 203 W. Park Ave., will be featuring the first full-length film from a local filmmaker. The movie, “Press Start,” will be shown at 7 p.m.
Press Start is a film about video games. It was created by Dark Maze Studios, a micro budget independent film studio based in Champaign.
