Police arrest man in connection with 2006 Champaign double murder

Champaign police arrested a 35-year-old man over the weekend in connection with the double murder of Jerry and Sue Haigh.

Kenneth Sean Kelly was arrested Sunday on two counts of first-degree murder, according to a press release from the Champaign Police Department. The Haighs were found dead on July 4, 2006 in their home at the 1700 block of Scottsdale Drive.

Kelly is in custody in Johnson City, Tenn. His bond was set at $1 million. Two additional suspects have been identified in the case and are in custody on unrelated charges.

The Champaign Police Department is continuing to work on the investigation.
