Police seeking person of interest in recent campus attacks

The Champaign and University police departments are looking for a person of interest in connection with two attacks that occurred on campus early Wednesday morning, according to a press release from the Champaign Police Department.

Police are interested in talking to a male who used a foreign identification for Fernando Rizo-Perez, a Hispanic male, 5’4″ to 5’6″ tall with an average build. The identification may be counterfeit, according to the release.

Police have obtained video footage of the man who used the identification and are seeking help from the public to assist with his identity and possible whereabouts.

If anyone has information regarding the attacks, they are asked to call the Champaign Police Department at 351-4545 or the University Police Department at 333-1216. Callers can remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers at 373-TIPS.
