The University of Illinois Employees’ Credit Union held a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Friday at 8:30 a.m. to celebrate the opening of its new Five Points Branch in Urbana. A Grand Opening Week will be held March 3-8, with the theme “Urbana. What a Great Place.”

The Five Points Branch is located at 206 E. University Ave. in Urbana and will be an important location for the organization, Keith Crane, Five Points Branch Manager , said.

“Being in this location will allow us to serve members who have been underserved in this area,” Crane said. “The location is great for Urbana and great for us.””

Membership in the credit union is now open to anyone who lives or works in Champaign County and the organization currently has over 33,000 members. The Employees’ Credit Union has two other locations. One is in the Illini Union and the main branch is located at 2201 S. First St. in Urbana.
