Hail hits campus

A hail storm hit campus today around 1:30 p.m.
According to www.weather.com, the current weather at that time was 44 degrees fahrenheit.
Hail is a major weather hazard in Illinois because it causes damage to crops and property, according to the Jim Angel, the state climatologist’s Web site,
The Web site states hail is very difficult to measure because it occurs very locally and remains in its solid form for only a few minutes before melting.
