The college of Liberal Arts and Sciences’ first female dean has announced her departure from the University to work at Northwestern University.

Sarah Mangelsdorf, who was appointed LAS dean in January 2006 will begin her role as dean of the Weinberg College of Arts and Sciences at Northwestern University in August.

“We certainly hate to see her leave,” said Robin Kaler, University spokeswoman. “Her contributions will be missed.”
