The National Weather Service has issued several weather warnings in affect for Champaign County, including a tornado warning until 6:45 p.m.

Until 10 p.m. Friday, Champaign County is under a tornado watch. A severe thunderstorm warning is also in affect until 6:15 p.m.

The storm passing through the area is capable of hail, strong winds and lightning. The Daily Illini suggests citizens of the county seek shelter immediately.
