Although the cause is yet to be determined, foul play is not expected to be involved in fire at a Champaign apartment complex at 2407 Hampshire Drive on Friday.

The 12-unit Twin Oaks Apartment complex was heavily damaged and two firefighters received minor injuries while fighting the blaze there Friday afternoon. The fire department had no updates on their injuries.

Multiple calls to the Champaign Fire Department reported the complex was on fire. Firefighters on scene found heavy smoke coming from the building’s Mattis Avenue side and called a second alarm as all occupants of the building were evacuated, according to a news release.

No civilian injuries were reported by the department.
