Illinois volleyball defeats William and Mary, goes 2-1 at Billiken Invitational

After starting the day by falling to No.3 Stanford, the Illini rebounded in their second match to defeat William and Mary in three sets 25-23, 25-20 and 25-13.

The Illini were paced by junior outside hitter Kylie McCulley and sophomore outside hitter Laura DeBruler. McCulley had 17 kills and six digs on the evening while DeBruler had 10 kills, 16 digs and a pair of aces.

Sophomore outside hitter Erin Skipper contributed 15 kills and hit .325 in the losing effort for the Tribe.

Illinois leaves Saint Louis 5-1 on the young season.
