No. 19 Illinois volleyball falls in three sets to No. 3 Stanford

Illinois volleyball fell to 4-1 on the season after dropping three sets, 25-15, 25-22, 25-22, to No. 3 Stanford on Saturday.

The Cardinal was led by senior middle blocker Foluke Akinradewo who had 12 kills in the match while hitting .923. Senior outside hitter Cynthia Barboza contributed eight kills and 11 digs for Stanford.

Leading the Fighting Illini was sophomore outside hitter Laura DeBruler, who connected for 12 kills along with eight digs in the losing effort.

Illinois has one more chance at the Billiken Invitational when they face William and Mary Saturday evening.
