Early morning fall injures ARC construction worker

At 7:10 a.m. Thursday morning the Champaign Fire Department received a call for help from workers at the Activites and Recreation Center, 204 E. Peabody Drive.

Champaign fire spokeswoman Dena Schumacher confirmed that a construction worker who fell about 12 feet from the west side of the building was loaded into an ambulance after more than an hour of rescue efforts by seven different crews.

The man was extricated to an ambulance at 8:15 a.m.
