The Islamic holiday Ramadan culminates tomorrow in the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.

Central Illinois Mosque and Islamic Center, 106 S. Lincoln Ave., in Urbana, hosts a prayer service early Wednesday morning. Services begin at 8:30 a.m. with tabkir, a chant in praise of God. A 9 a.m. prayer and sermon follow.

“We will be expecting between 500 and 1,000 tomorrow,” said Marwan Yusef, president of the board of directors for the Central Illinois Mosques and Islamic Center.

Eid-ul-Fitr, meaning “tp break,” ends the fasting period of Ramadam. The event is open to the community and guests are welcome.
