Fat Sandwich Company will open its doors at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, said co-owner Cole Lewko.

The restaurant, located at 502 E. John in Champaign, specializes in unique and large sandwiches, featuring ingredients ranging from mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers to mini corndogs.

Fat Sandwich Company will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 3 a.m.

The restaurant anticipates a busy opening night. Many people believed the restaurant was opening Thursday night, Lewko said.

“We’ve had to turn away hundreds of people . . . it has been a zoo,” he said.
