Halloween has come and gone, and there are still no suspects regarding the author of a threatening note, according to University police.

However, Jeff Christensen, interim director of public safety for the University, said overall, the night went smoothly. He said there had been no arrests, but added that there were “a few issues.” They all turned out to be non-threatening.

Christensen said there was a report of shots fired on Healey Street, but it was found to be false. There were also individuals dressed in camouflage on the top floor of a Green Street apartment building, but they were not a threat.

“We checked out a couple of individuals and talked to a few people with fake weapons,” he said. “The detail went well. People on Green Street saw an increased police presence.” Christensen could not go into the specifics of police activity for the evening.

Still, because of the amount of effort and resources put into police action Halloween night, Christensen said the University Police Department is continuing to seek the identity of the threat note’s author. Police want to identify the author and send a report to the State’s Attorney’s office for charging, he said.
