University police warn Iowa fans of threat note

The University police department has warned University of Iowa fans coming for Saturday’s football game about the note threatening a shooting on Green St. on Halloween night.

The public affairs and police departments of both universities have been in contact with each other in the last few weeks regarding the threat, said University police chief Jeff Christensen.

University of Iowa’s News Services website posted a message on Wednesday warning fans of threat and to be be aware of their surroundings.

“Police say they do not expect any incidents at the game Nov. 1 in connection with this threat,” the message said.
