Campus gossip Web site JuicyCampus is the most recent casualty of the “historically difficult economic times” that have dissolved online ad revenue, according to a blog post from Matt Ivester, founder and CEO of JuicyCampus.

Ivester announced today that the Web site will close down on Feb. 5. He citied exponential growth in popularity that “outpaced our ability to muster the resources needed to survive this economic downturn,” as the cause for the shutdown.

The Web site, which launched in October 2007, incorporated the University into its database in early 2008.

The full blog post, in which Ivester bids farewell to “JuicyCampers,” can be found here.
