County Market is will open, as promised, at 6 a.m. tomorrow, according to Daniel Wilson, Project Manager of the Duce Construction site.

Rumors that the sidewalk on the 331 Stoughton St. storefront was not complete had put the store’s opening into question.

According to Champaign city code, a business cannot open with an incomplete sidewalk.

Wilson said that Duce construction workers will be removing blankets covering the portion of sidewalk directly in front of the store at 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

“As far as we know, on the owners side of things, it will be open tomorrow,” Wilson said.
