Just after 9:30 a.m. Thursday morning a 29 -year-old woman reported an attempted sexual assault on her in Spalding Park at 848 N. Harvard in Champaign, according to a press release.

The victim reported that the suspect lured her into a nearby skate park by requesting her to help in aid a friend in trouble. Once alone, the suspect began to touch the victim in an inappropriate manner.

After receiving a description of the suspect, Champaign officer, Jody Cherry arrested the suspect as he was running from the park.

The arrestee is a 15-year-old Champaign resident. He will be transported to the Champaign County Juvenile Detention Center, and held there until his court appearance.
