Managers of Green Street restaurants, liquor stores and convenience shops all said business booms on Unofficial.

At lunch time, the line outside Chipotle was out the door. The restaurant had to hire extra help to accommodate the traffic, said Jason Dockins, general manager of Chipotle.

“Business is fantastic!” he said. “People were coming in a lot earlier.”

Both Home Town Pantry and Discount Liquor serviced their first alcohol purchases at 6:00a.m, said managers of the two businesses.

Panchar said people have been stocking up on alcohol since Tuesday. He said beer generated most sales, with orders up to 100 cases at a time.

“I want to make sure everyone is drunk,” Panchar said. He added that so far, people have been really cooperative since they know if they make trouble, they will not get service.

Michael LaDue, manager of Jon’s Pipe Shop also said customers have been fairly well-mannered. He said during the last two Unofficials, the were a lot more drunk people by lunch time.

“But things are pretty reasonable so far,” LaDue said.

Even enterprises that have nothing to do with drinking alcohol or holding it down are seeing differences in business on Unofficial.

Bryana Close, employee at Campus Florist, said there have been a lot more orders of single red roses. As boyfriends and girlfriends come to the University to visit their significant others on this holiday, guys have been buying flowers to surprise their girlfriends.

Smoothie King has posted signs recommending special hangover smoothies that contain extra electrolytes. Employee Ashley Tibbetts said she hoped students would be checking them out as Unofficial aftermath kicks in, she said.
