State treasurer Alexi Giannoulias, announced today that he will not accept corporate PAC or federal lobbyist contributions if he makes a bid for the U.S. Senate seat previously held by Barack Obama.

In today’s press release, he called for grassroots support and donations and said that he hoped to raise an impressive amount before Tuesday when the reporting period for the first three months of the year ends.
