The Chicago-born punk band Rise Against is coming to Assembly Hall. The May 8 concert will feature other punk-rock headliners, with opening shows from Bad Religion and Four Year Strong.
“It was only about six years ago we were celebrating our good fortune at being picked to open for the legendary Bad Religion,“ said lead singer Tim McIlrath. “I would’ve claimed you were lying if you said we’d be taking them out in the future; we’re pretty stoked.”
Student pre-sale will begin Feb. 10 at 8 a.m., selling for $23. Sale to the general public will begin on Feb. 12 at $29. Tickets are general admission.
Rise Against, created in 1999 in Chicago, Ill., met commercial success with singles like “Prayer of the Refugee,” and “Savior.”
Their Spring 2011 tour, beginning in Las Vegas, Nev. on April 5, will end in Chicago May 14, with three other concerts booked in the Midwest and Canada later during the summer.
