This Thursday, the Center for Latin American and Caribbean Studies (CLACS), as part of their lecture series, will be hosting a discussion: Sex and Eroticism in Jorge Luis Borges’s Literature.
Led by Ariel de la Fuente, professor of Latin American and Latino Studies at Purdue, the event will be held in room 101 of the International Studies Building at 910 S. Fifth Street beginning at noon.
Jorge Luis Borges, an Argentine writer, is well known for his works Ficciones (1944) and The Aleph (1949) – both of which are compilations of short stories. His work is said to embrace the “character of unreality in all literature”. His works are often considered as early additions to the genre of science fiction and magic realism.
CLACS Lecture Series take place in an informal, friendly, and supportive setting where speakers share any selected aspect of their academic research with graduate and undergraduate students and faculty. The aim of the program is not only to promote student’s involvement but also to involve faculty to participate and share their work.
For more information about the event questions can be directed by e-mail to Angelina Cotler at [email protected].
