Alan J. W. Bell, director and producer of British television show “Last of the Summer Wine,” will speak at Campbell Hall on March 23 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
People will be able to drink wine and eat cheese while listening to Bell tell stories about making the series. He will also show a short behind-the-scenes film about the show.
“Last of the Summer Wine” was the longest running British comedy show. It ran for 31 seasons, 27 of which were directed by Bell. The show was nominated for five British Academy Film Awards and four National Television Awards.
Campbell Hall is located at 300 Goodwin Ave. in Urbana. A donation of $50 per person is requested for the event.
