Champaign and Illinois State Police issue 27 citations during latest bar check

The Illinois State Police, along with the Champaign Police Department, conducted an Alcohol Countermeasure Enforcement on Nov. 9 at bars in Champaign County.

A total of 27 citations were issued by Champaign Police and the ISP. Of the 27, 10 were issued at Joe’s Brewery, eight at KAM’S, eight at Red Lion and one at Murphy’s Pub.

The citations were issued for possession/purchase of alcohol by a minor, sale/delivery of alcohol to a minor and unlawful use of identification.

The mission of the ACE program is to reduce and prevent underage drinking in Illinois.
