Digital hate campus talk postponed

By Daily Illini Staff Report

The open forum event #ONECAMPUS: Moving Beyond Digital Hate has been moved to Thursday at 7:30 p.m, according to a mass email sent from the Inclusive Illinois committee.

The meeting, previously scheduled for Tuesday, was rescheduled due to weather concerns.

The forum is intended to give students, faculty and staff a place to speak about the role social media plays in the Illinois community, according to the email.

The event takes place in wake of racist and threatening tweets sent about Chancellor Phyllis Wise regarding her decision to continue classes Jan. 27 despite cold temperatures.

Wise responded to the remarks last Thursday in an Inside Higher Ed blog post last. She said she was disturbed by the attacks.
