Construction to close part of Locust Street

A new storm sewer will be built on the east parkway of Locust Street between Daniel and John streets.
To complete the work, traffic on Locust Street will be narrowed to a single shared lane, according to a press release from the City of Champaign.
Construction will start at 7 a.m. Thursday and is expected to last until 7 p.m. Friday.
The release advises the public to obey all construction signs or plan on taking alternative routes to avoid the construction.
