Police are advising extra caution for students this Halloween weekend.
There will be both plain-clothed and uniformed officers on campus this weekend, Capt. Roy Acree from the University of Illinois Police Department said.
Acree advised that students pay attention to their surroundings and to call 911 if something does not feel right.
“If you think that a person in a mask is following you, cross the street and see if they still are trailing behind you,” Acree said.

Along with the UIPD, the Champaign and Urbana Police Departments will also be patrolling campus.
Acree also reminds students that when it comes to consuming alcohol on Halloween, “It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”
