A sexual assault occurred in the 500 block of East Green Street around 12:30 a.m. Thursday.

The attacker was unknown to the victim and was described as a white male in his early twenties with blonde hair and a scar near his right eye, according to a crime alert sent out by the University of Illinois Police Department.

At the time of the attack, the offender was wearing a blue and gold shirt.

The Champaign Police Department is currently investigating the crime and encourages anyone who may know more to call with information.
