UPDATE: As of 9:17 p.m. Deborah Frank Feinen won the race for mayor of Champaign. Feinen had 4,967 votes. Incumbent Don Gerard followed with 3,800 votes. Joe Petry and Karen Foster had 2,243 and 1,112 votes respectively. Polls closed at 7 p.m.

UPDATE: As of 9:07 p.m. with 85.37 percent of the Champaign precincts reporting in the Champaign Mayoral Election, Deborah Frank Feinen has 4,173 votes. Incumbent Don Gerard follows with 3,201 votes. Joe Petry and Karen Foster follow with 1,900 and 962 votes respectively. Polls closed at 7 p.m.

UPDATE: As of 8:46 p.m. with 48.78 percent of the Champaign precincts reporting in the Champaign Mayoral Election, Deborah Frank Feinen has 3,251 votes. Incumbent Don Gerard follows with 2,465 votes. Joe Petry and Karen Foster follow with 1,454 and 757 votes respectively. Polls closed at 7 p.m.

UPDATE: As of 8:24 p.m. with 12 percent of the Champaign precincts reporting in the Champaign Mayoral Election, Deborah Frank Feinen has 2,085 votes. Incumbent Don Gerard follows with 1,727 votes. Joe Petry and Karen Foster follow with 960 and 530 votes respectively. Twelve percent of Champaign precincts have been counted. Polls closed at 7 p.m.

Champaign County elections began at 7 a.m. Tuesday morning, however, many residents chose to cast their vote ahead of time.
Gordy Hulten, Champaign County clerk, said over 3,200 ballots were cast before Tuesday in the 2015 consolidation election.
Votes cast before Tuesday include early votes, mail-in votes and military votes. There are 39 polling places located throughout the county and all close at 7 p.m.
