Vandalism reported on Alma Mater statue

A University employee reported someone had spray-painted the Alma Mater statue, located in the 1400 block of W. Green St., Urbana, overnight on Monday.
The employee reported the vandalism Monday afternoon. According to police, it seemed the offender tried to wipe the paint off, but some marks of the paint remained.
University police are looking to find the offender.
