Live Illinois Primary election updates

11:30 p.m. — Hillary Clinton won the Democratic presidential primary in Illinois with 50.5 percent of the votes and 94 percent of precincts reporting.

10:45 p.m. — With 85 percent of precincts reporting, Hillary Clinton maintains her lead with 50.7 percent of the votes. Bernie Sanders has 48.8 percent of the votes.

10:25 p.m. — The race between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders is narrowing in Illinois with 75 percent of precincts reporting. Clinton is leading with 50.9 percent of the vote; Sanders has 48.3 percent of the vote. In Champaign County, Sanders won the democratic presidential primary with 65.1 percent of the vote, according to The Associated Press.

9:55 p.m.   In Champaign County, with 107 of 118 precincts reporting, Bernie Sanders is leading with 65.1 percent of the vote; Hillary Clinton  has 34.6 percent of the vote. In Illinois, 71 percent of precincts are reporting. Clinton is leading with 51 percent of the vote; Bernie Sanders has 48 percent of the vote.

8:55 p.m. — The Associated Press reports Donald Trump wins the Republican Primary in Illinois. 

8:45 p.m. — Thirty-five percent of precincts are reporting, according to The Associated Press. Donald Trump is leading the republican primary race by 15 points; Hillary Clinton is leading the democratic primary by 6 points. In Champaign County, 14 out of 118 precincts are reporting with Ted Cruz at 32.3 percent of the votes and Trump following closely with 30 percent. In the county, Bernie Sanders has 63.9 percent of the vote with Clinton following at 35.8 percent.

8:15 p.m. — Republican U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk and Democratic U.S. Rep. Tammy Duckworth have won the Illinois primary for their respective position, The Associated Press reports. Twenty-three percent of precincts are reporting, according to the AP.

7:45 p.m. — Illinois primary results are beginning to come in from the Chicagoland area and Southern Illinois. Five percent of precincts are reporting that Trump is leading the Republican votes with approximately 42.7 percent, while former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is leading the Democratic vote at 54.3 percent, according to The Associated Press.

7:30 p.m. — Early in the game, The Associated Press reports 2 percent of precincts are reporting. According to a report from The New York Times, Marco Rubio has suspended his campaign for the republican party’s presidential nominee.
