Fire Department to conduct victim rescue drill

On June 28, 29, and 30, 2016 the Champaign Fire Department in conjunction with Carle Arrow Ambulance, Presence PRO Ambulance, and both the Champaign and Parkland Police Departments will be conducting victim rescue drills at Parkland College in Champaign. According to the press release, crews will be performing skills that might be utilized in an active shooter or mass casualty situation.
According to a press release, the Champaign Fire Department began developing its response guidelines to an active shooter event in the months before December 2014. Since that time, the press release states crews have had classroom training and equipment familiarization. Planning for this multi-agency drill began in early 2016.
