An influential alumna will become one of 322 in the national 4-H Hall of Fame.

Lila Jeanne Eichelberger will be inducted into the 2016 Hall of Fame Class in October. The ceremony will take place in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

“A woman of remarkable grace, Lila Jeanne tirelessly campaigns with her time, energy, and financial resources for the advancement of Illinois 4-H, 4-H Memorial Camp, 4-H House, University of Illinois, and Illini sports.” Anie Barnard, the executive director of the Illinois 4-H foundation, said in a press release.

Eichelberger contributed to both 4-H and the University regularly for the last 50 years.

Eichelberger’s name can be seen on the Illinois softball field, which was named after her family due to her significant contribution to the project.
