Police blotter for August 24, 2016

Champaign

  •  Theft was reported at Meijer, 2401 N. Prospect Ave., around 3:30 p.m. Monday. According to the report, an unknown offender stole an article of clothing and fled from security.
  • Theft of a motor vehicle was reported in the 200 block of South Country Fair Drive around 5 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the victim reported her vehicle was stolen from a parking lot while she was out of town. The vehicle was later recovered.

University

  •  Nothing to report.

Urbana

  • Criminal damage to property was reported in the 1800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue around 9:30 a.m. Monday. According to the report, an unknown offender broke a window of the victim’s residence with an unidentified instrument.
  •  Burglary was reported in the 2000 block of Fletcher Street around 2:30 a.m. Monday. According to the report, an unknown offender entered the victim’s apartment and stole his television and laptop. The offender gained entry by prying the victim’s door open. The crime originally occurred on August 1.
