Business Career Fair
- When: Sept. 14-15, 2:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
- Where: Activities and Recreation Center (ARC)
- What is it: There will be a career fair geared towards business majors at the ARC Wednesday and Thursday. Companies will be recruiting potential new hires for internships/jobs.
Immigrant Welcome Awards
- When:Sept. 24, 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
- Where: Urbana Free Library, 210 W. Green St.
- What is it: The CU Immigration Forum is hosting its third annual Immigrant Welcome Awards. The event is meant to be a celebration of diversity, with music, food and art projects for children available to all. The winners of the Immigrant Friendly Awards, which are presented to “individuals and organizations that have created a welcoming atmosphere for immigrants in Champaign County.”
Gallery Conversation: Crossings and Borderlands
- When: Sept. 15, 5:30 p.m.
- Where: Krannert Art Museum, 500 E. Peabody Dr.
- What is it: Part of Krannert Art Museum’s ongoing Gallery Conversation series, the first of the 2016 school year will discuss borders and boundaries and the ways they are challenged and crossed. It will be moderated Amy L. Powell, KAM Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, and Terri Weissman, Associate Professor of Art History.
VOICE Reading Series
- When: Sept. 15, 7:30 p.m.
- Where: Krannert Art Museum, 500 E. Peabody Dr.
- What is it: The VOICE Reading Series showcases students from the Creative Writing MFA Program at the University who write fiction and poetry. This week features Checkwube Danladi (fiction), Taylor Micks (poetry) and Katherine Kendig (fiction).
