Police blotter for September 20, 2016

Champaign

  • A home invasion was reported in the 200 block of E. Washington Street around 9 p.m. Monday.

According to the report, victims reported that three suspects entered their residence and held them at gunpoint while taking several items.

  • A residential burglary was reported in the 1000 block of W. Kirby Avenue around 6 p.m. Monday.

According to the report, there was a forced entry into the residence and one electronic gaming system and one game were stolen, with one window damaged during the entry.

  • A 23-year-old was arrested for domestic battery in the 1200 block of W. Bradley Avenue around 12:30 a.m. Monday.

According to the report, the suspect battered the victim and was then arrested.

  • A theft was reported in at Barton Hall, in the 1200 block of S. Fourth Street at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.

According to the report, the victim reported that their motor scooter was stolen some time between Sept. 6 through the 10 from the residence hall. The motor scooter is estimated to value $2,500.

  •  Damage to property was reported at the Armory, in the 500 block of E. Armory Avenue, around 5:00 a.m. on Monday.

According to the report, a University employee reported that a bathroom window had been broken at some point between Friday and Monday. Two hallway chairs were also stolen, each with a value of around $900.

  • A theft was reported at Carr Hall, in the 1000 block of W. Pennsylvania Avenue, around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the report, the victim reported that their tablet computer had been stolen between the time of 9:30 to 10:00 p.m. and has an estimated value of $100.

  • A 19-year-old male was arrested on the charge of possession of controlled substance in the 500 block of E. University Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.

According to the report, after an investigation into drug activity, the police officers searched the offender’s apartment and found Methylin pills.

Urbana

  • A battery was reported at Carle Hospital in the 600 block of University Avenue around 10:00 a.m. on Monday.

According to the report, a 51-year-old male victim claimed the offender, a 60-year-old woman,  battered him while he received care at the hospital.

  • An attempted burglary from a motor vehicle occurred in the 1300 block of South Race Street at 11:59 p.m. on Saturday.

According to the report, an unknown offender entered the victim’s unlocked vehicle without the victim’s permission, but did not take anything.

  • A residential burglary occurred in the 1100 block of Fairview Avenue at 10:00 a.m. on Monday.   

According to the report, an unknown offender entered the victim’s residence and took one computer.
