Women’s Resource Center to host World AIDS Day
December 1, 2016
The University Women’s Resource Center is holding a workshop on HIV prevention and education this coming Friday for World AIDS Day.
World AIDS Day is on on Dec. 1 and has occurred every year since 1988. The day’s purpose is to increase the global awareness and understanding of AIDS, as well as means of prevention.
The workshop will include a talk presented by Mike Benner from the Greater Community AIDS Project. He will touch on issues related to HIV for women, including transgender women.
In honor of the day, HIV testing will be available at the WRC during that afternoon.
The workshop is a part of the WRC’s Sexual Health Series, which focuses on topics in sexual and reproductive well-being. These workshops will continue to be held throughout the year.
