Blair Rowitz, MD, and Jarrod Almaroad, MD, are permanently joining the Carle Illinois College of Medicine senior leadership team, according to a press release.

Rowitz is serving as associate dean for clinical affairs, and Almaroad is serving as director of clinical science. Both positions are the first permanent positions of their kind at the college.

Rowitz has been working as the interim associate dean for clinical affairs since Nov. 2016.

Almaroad is joining the University this fall, after working as an anesthesiologist at Carle for nine years.

“We are fortunate to welcome Dr. Almaroad and to have Dr. Rowitz continue playing an important role in building the world’s first engineering-based college of medicine,” said King Li, dean for the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, in the press release. “Their leadership is critical to training the first generation of physician-innovators who will re-engineer the delivery of health care.”
