Champaign

Aggravated battery was reported in the 1200 block of North Mattis around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday. According to the report, the offender shot the victim with a paintball gun, but they have yet to be located or identified.

A retail theft was reported in the 2600 block of North Prospect Avenue, around 11 a.m. on Thursday. According to the report, police came to the Walmart in response to an internal theft. The offender, who stole electronic equipment, has yet to be located.

University

A 19-year-old male was arrested on the charges of bringing contraband into a penal institution and failing to appear in court for a warrant, near the intersection of Fourth and Green streets around 2 a.m. on Friday. According to the report, a police officer recognized the offender and was aware of the outstanding warrant. At the jail, cannabis was found in the arrestee’s clothes.

A 32-year-old male was arrested on the charge of speeding near Lincoln Avenue and College Court around 11:30 p.m. on Thursday. According to the report, a speed radar device had detected the offender’s motorcycle traveling 87 mph in a 25 mph zone.

Urbana

A residential burglary was reported in the 400 block of Park Street around 5 p.m. on Saturday. According to the report, the victim reported that an unknown offender entered their residence through an unlocked window and stole some household wares.

A domestic dispute was reported at Harbor Freight Tools, 1508 N. Cunningham Ave., around 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. According to the report, the offender and victim, who are in a dating relationship, had a verbal argument after the offender accused the victim of stealing money. Both stated there was no physical contact during the altercation and a witness confirmed that information. They both agreed they were okay and left together.
